On 30th June 2023, the Department of Air Quality, Noise and Vibration Management, General Directorate of Environment Protection, Ministry of Environment organized a closing workshop and presented key outputs under the project “Strengthening Air and Climate Pollution Management in Cambodia Project”, funding by the CCCA3. The project has achieved all the set milestones including the completion of a draft Sub-decree in Khmer on Air Quality, Noise and Vibration Management. Moreover, the project has also developed the Air Quality Monitoring Data Platform, which can be accessed (https://airquality.moe.gov.kh/home). A variety of training workshops on operating the platform for officers from the MoE and Provincial Department of Environment were conducted via physical and online platforms.

In addition, the project has also conducted the piloting monitoring of short-lived climate pollutants, which have the potential to warm the atmosphere in the near-term many times greater than carbon dioxide, (SLCP) (mainly black carbon) and air pollution from stationary sources and strengthening capacity on air quality management plan and reduction of SLCP emissions at national and sub-national level.
