In Cambodia, the rapid economic development led by the government's visionary leadership has
increased the demand for energy, particularly electricity. However, many remote non-electried villages
still face energy poverty. To address this challenge, a pioneering project was initiated, focusing on the
installation of solar microgrids to provide sustainable and aordable access to electricity. This case study
examines the project in detail, highlighting valuable lessons learned, best practices, and the role model it
presents for future solar microgrid implementations in Cambodia.
