Preah SiStaff retreat dec 2014hanouk – From 18-19 December 2014 the Climate Change Department (CCD) of the Cambodia Ministry of Environment conducted its annual retreat and a back-to-back retreat for the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) with participation of CCD and CCCA staff, aiming to review progress, plan activities for next year, discuss other issues and agree on recommendations for the Department, particularly the performance of CCCA Phase 2 (July-December 2014) and discuss workplan for CCCA 2015.

During the first day of event, all staff perceived basic procedure on finance, procurement and human resources and administration affaires, outlining in CCCA policy, followed by conducting internal meeting of CCD to reflect the 2nd semester achievements and to develop a work plan and budget for 2015, chaired by Mr. Sum Thy, CCD director. The meeting participants appreciated the many achievements made in strengthening staff technical capacity, building institutional and legal framework, resource mobilization, promoting cooperation and aligning programme/project work plans with the CCD work plan. The Department is committed to further strengthening its capacity, addressing some of its weaknesses.

On the following day, both CCD officials and CCCA staff actively involved in discussing progress, lessons learnt, challenges made during 2nd half 2014 of CCCA phase 2, and in elaborating work plan and budget plan of CCCA, 2015, which will receive funding from EU, SIDA and UNDP and focus on 3 priorities: 1) Climate change governance and accountability framework, 2) Domestic and external finance effectively oriented in support of climate resilient and low carbon development, and 3) Human and technological capacities. Apart from programme work, numbers of separated grames are conducted to unify solidarity.
