On March 25-26 2024, the CCCA3 team participated in the ‘Dissemination Workshop and Forum on the Integration of Coastal Management with Low Impact Development Concept in Coastal City Planning Process’, in Sihanoukville.

This is a Research Partnership Grant by Institute of Technology of Cambodia ITC – CLID. The project duration between September-2021 – March-2024. Which is now coming to an end with remarkable results with a final dissemination workshop with the objectives to disseminate our project output and foster knowledge exchange among all stakeholders through a discussion forum about LID in Cambodia’s coastal areas by national and international experts and bring all key practitioners and stakeholders such as local authorities (Province, Krong/Srok, and Khum level), provincial departments, academia, development partners, NGOs, and private sectors to gain new and deeper knowledge about LID.

The sub-objectives of the workshop are:

1.  Dissemination of CLID project output to relevant stockholders including local government officials, private companies, local community, and NGOs

2.  Forum discussion on the critical role of research funding for urban planning towards LID

3.  To present the endline survey result of the urban development, LID practice, and the capacity for practicing LID in Cambodia’s coastal areas

4.  To identify challenges and recommendations to implement LID at Local Administration level.

At the end session, participants had a chance for group discussion and comments and to the project team, and will help the project researchers to understand the needs from relevant stakeholders.
