🌿 April 23–24, 2026 β€” The CamAdapt Project, led by the Ministry of Environment, convened a training workshop on β€œGender Mainstreaming and Climate Change for Subnational Administrations and Coastal Communities,” drawing about 40 participants, including 23 women.

⭐ Presided over by H.E. Kop Roly, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Environment,​ and Mr. Long Sona Director of Department of Climate Change Β the workshop focused on strengthening the integration of gender considerations into environmental management and climate response efforts at the local level.

Participants exchanged knowledge and practical experiences on climate adaptation and mitigation measures aimed at promoting sustainable natural resource management and building resilience in coastal communities.

🧩 A key outcome of the training was the strengthened incorporation of gender perspectives into community protected area and fisheries management plans, as well as commune and sangkat development and investment plans. The sessions also enhanced local capacity for implementation, monitoring and inclusive decision-making.

🌱 The CamAdapt Project, implemented by the General Department of Administration for Nature Conservation and Protection of the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, with financial support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), aims to reduce the vulnerability of coastal fishing communities and strengthen climate change adaptation through ecosystem enhancement and improved community livelihoods.
