The Ministry of Environment, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), convened national and provincial stakeholders to advance the implementation of the ๐—ฆ๐—–๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—˜+ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜.

The meeting included remarks from ๐—›.๐—˜. ๐—ž๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—น๐˜†, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Environment, ๐— ๐˜€. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฎ๐—ต ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น, FAO Representative in Cambodia, and ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด, Director of the Department of Climate Change and National Project Manager of ๐—ฆ๐—–๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—˜+.

Launched by the Royal Government of Cambodia in February 2026, the SCALE+ Project, โ€œ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—น๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฎโ€™๐˜€ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐—•๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†-๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—น๐˜† ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝโ€“๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—ฆ๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ๐˜€,โ€ focuses on strengthening climate resilience across key protected landscapes, including Boeung Per Wildlife Sanctuary and Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary. These landscapes support hundreds of thousands of people who depend on forests, agriculture, and natural resources for their livelihoods, while also playing a critical role in conserving biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Implemented by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), the project is supported technically by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and financially by the ๐—š๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—˜๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—™๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† (๐—š๐—˜๐—™).

The project will benefit more than ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฐ,๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ people, at least ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ of whom are ๐’˜๐’๐’Ž๐’†๐’, while restoring ๐Ÿต๐Ÿฎ,๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ of community-protected areas and rehabilitating ๐Ÿฎ,๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ. Through biodiversity-friendly agriculture, sustainable land management, and ecosystem restoration, the project is helping strengthen resilient livelihoods and climate adaptation across Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom provinces.
