On 23rd November 2022. Dr. Hak Mao, DCC’s Director, and the DCC/CCCA3 technical team met a Korean team led by Mr. Jaeyoung Chang, CEO of Advanced Technology Recovery Inc. The meeting discussed the project proposal submitted by the company under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to restore mangrove forest in Cambodia. Following the meeting, Dr. Hak Mao and the DCC/CCCA3 staff, along with the Korean team, visited two possible project sites in Kampot province, the Prek Tnaot fishing and Trapeang Ropov communities. After the discussion and the site observation of these two locations, Dr. Hak Mao requested the Korean team to prepare a detailed conceptual document with an adequate implementation plan following the CDM approach. The Korean team will let the Ministry of Environment know the specific site of the project once the location has been selected before proceeding with the next steps of the process.
