Mr. Sem Savuth's Profile
Mr. Sem Savuth is a young professional at Cambodia Climate Change Alliance - Phase 3 with extensive experience in environmental knowledge management, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and research on climate-related issues over 10 years. Attaining a Master's degree at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in the Philippines in 2018, he has proved his knowledge and competence in addressing climate change and environmental issues in Cambodia. He has a proven track record of leadership in climate change knowledge management, particularly the development of the vulnerability index in Cambodia.
He has been leading the update and maintenance of the vulnerability index and closely working with relevant national and international universities to foster research partnerships on climate change adaptation and mitigation-related topics based on the country’s prioritised sectors. He has been closely involved in and supported the process of developing Cambodia’s children’s climate risk index (Cambodia’s CCRI), Cambodia's Nationally Determined Contribution (Updated NDC), Long-term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality (LTS4CN), Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP 2024-2033), NDC/ LTS4CN tracking system, and other climate change policies.
He has had strong expertise in tracking project implementation and monitoring, managing a total of 22 research and innovation grants under the CCCA3, providing innovative advice on climate smart agriculture and opportunities on climate financing and carbon market within the projects and related stakeholders engaged. He attend number of scientific conferences across the regions and published several research articles on energy accounting in agriculture and KAP studies on climate change.
