GIG training workshop

On 26th July, 2022, the Department of Climate Change (DCC), the General Department of Policy and Strategy (GDPS) of the Ministry of Environment, under the support of the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance - Phase III (CCCA3), organized a Refreshment Training on the CCCA3 Grant Implementation Guidelines. The training was led by Dr. Hak Mao, Director of the DCC and the CCCA3 manager, and with the participation of 53 representative grantees from ministries, institutions, educational institutions, NGOs and the private sector.

In the opening session, Dr. Hak Mao stated that the grant projects have made a significant contribution to building human and institutional capacity to address climate change, both the adaptation and mitigation sides. At the present, there are 22 grant projects including 12 innovation projects, 6 projects with 6 government ministries and 4 research projects with higher education institutions. Dr. Hak Mao reminded the gantees to strengthen the cooperation with CCCA3 in order to understand the procedures of the project implementation, including the preparation of quality reports. In addition, in it important to strengthen networks among different grantees to provide scientific evidence in climate related issues.

As a result, the workshop provided a presentation on (1) the project reporting process, (2) procurement finance management, (3) knowledge management documentation, and (4) project monitoring and evaluation. The participants shared experiences on project implementation and identified challenges, they also identified activities that can be scaled up for future policy development.
