Meeting on Cambodia Climate Finance Facility

On 19th August 2022 at Ministry of Environment, H.E. Mr. Say Samal, Minister of Environment, presided over a meeting to discuss initiatives for climate finance facility. The meeting was attended by representative from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Agricultural and Rural Development Bank of Cambodia, other Banks and Micro Finance institutes.

H.E. Say Samal emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the preparational procedures of the Cambodia Climate Finance Facility, including conditions and processes to provide low financing and loans to the private sector in order to implement green projects, contributing to climate resilient, low carbon modes of development in prioritized areas such as FOLU, water resources, renewable energy, energy efficiency and transportation.

At the meeting, Mekong Strategic Partner presented the initial results of the study on the establishment of the Cambodian Climate Finance Institution and they collected inputs and comments from the representatives on the results of the study.
