Newly Established National Sub-Working Group on Greenhouse Gas Inventory

On 15th August 2022, the DCC with the support of FAO organized the First Meeting on National Sub-Working Group on Greenhouse Gas Inventory. The meeting aimed at putting in practice the decision of the Ministry of Environment on the establishment of the Sub-Working Group on National Greenhouse Gas Inventory and the sub-group to fulfill its obligations under international conventions, protocols and agreements related to climate change. The meeting was led by Dr. Hak Mao, director of the DCC, and with the participation of relevant ministries and institutions, members of the sub-working group, and the development partners.

Dr. Hak Mao emphasized that the sub-national working group will have an important role in producing data to support the development of national reports and to fulfill obligations and task under the UNFCCC. At the meeting, a presentation on Cambodia's obligations under the UNFCCC, and experiences on the development of national greenhouse inventories were shared. The meeting also discussed the Article 6 under Paris Agreement, in particularly in terms of avoiding any duplication of carbon credit sales.
