GIG workshop 27Jul2015Phnom Penh 27 July 2015 - The General Secretariat​​ of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD-GS) with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) programme organized a training workshop on “Grant Implementation Guideline” to ministries/agency who successfully obtained grants from CCCA.

A total of 24 participants representing 6 grantees -- Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, and National Committee for Disaster Management -- and grantee’s partners including Mlup Baitong, Caritas, Institute of Technology of Cambodia and World Health Organization attended the workshop.

Mr. Sum Thy, Director of the Climate Change Department and CCCA’s Programme Manager, warmly welcomed the new CCCA’s grantees. He mentioned that “climate change is a cross cutting issue which has​ been taken into account by the Royal Government, and this grant facilities mechanism is part of necessary elements to support the 10-year Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan effectively. This training on grant implementation guidelines will allow grantees to have a clear understanding of the procedures and reporting requirements of the General Secretariat of NCSD for this CCCA programme.

For this first round of CCCA Grant Facilities Window 1, the total allocated funding is an amount of US$ 2,250,000 earmarked Ministries/Agency with approved Climate Change Action Plans (CCAPs). The initiatives have to be in line with their CCAP priorities, demonstrate added value in relation to other existing initiatives and must directly contribute to concrete climate change mitigation or adaptation results in the field.
