The General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD) has the​ honor to inform the public, national and international media, NGOs, relevant ministries/institutions, and all stakeholders that it launched the report "Cambodia's Updated Nationally
Determined Contribution (NDC)" on Monday 8th of February 2021 at the Ministry of Environment. The Cambodia's Updated NDC report presents the commitments of Cambodia to achieve the goal of the Paris Agreement on climate change which was adopted on 12th December 2015, and the Kingdom of Cambodia signed the agreement in New York, USA, on 22nd of April 2016. The parties to the agreement, including Cambodia agreed to limit global warming to well below 2, preferably to 1.5 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels and to significantly reduce the risks and impacts of climate change. The Cambodia's updated NDC report sets clear target for emissions reductions of 64.6 million tC02e/year by 2030 (41.7% reduction, of which 59.1% is ±rom the Forestry and Other Land Use sector). The report includes 86 adaptation actions proposed by line ministries.
