IMG 3748 rOn 14th February 2013, the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) in installing climate change library corner in RUA’s main library. Number of climate change related books, publications, report and research materials were brought to the university. In this event, there were around 250 participants including students and faculty members attended.

The main purpose of this activity is to raise climate change awareness and to promote extensive climate change research amongst university students and researchers. “Climate change is a complex and uncertainty issue and poses challenges on almost all the sectors particularly agriculture, so it is crucial to extend climate change research for getting new information and technology to help people adapt to climate change.” Said Dr. Tin Ponlok, Deputy Director General, in his key note address.

The Climate Change Policy Development and Knowledge Management project of CCCA is drafting climate change policy and raising climate change awareness through various activities including producing climate change related document and materials, providing subnational training and installing climate change library in a few universities in Cambodia to facilitate students and researchers in getting climate change information. In addition to that, the Climate Change Department is providing additional climate change information through its website.

The CCCA program will keep sending climate change related books and materials to the universities for further public accessibility. Currently, CCCA is seeking collaboration from all stakeholders to contribute their publications on climate change related issues for climate change library.
