Global warming is one of the major concerns of every country. Climate change which is causing the global warming is increasingly changing resource-based development, often in detrimental ways. The ninth session of the AVI-SDGs Dialogue Series on “Climate Change and Sustainable development” highlighted the main challenges we have faced before and during the pandemic and the key solutions for post-COVID-19 recovery.

Dr. Hak Mao – one of the invited speakers of the event, provided keynote and presentation on climate change and raised up a number of environmental issues, policies that are critical for addressing climate change in Cambodia in particularly through the development of the updated NDC and Cambodia’s Long-Term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality.

Moreover, the two other panelists, Ms. Bridget Mclntosh, Country director of EnergyLab Cambodia, and Ms. Phean Sophoan, National Director of Oxfam Cambodia, shared interesting views in the webinar. They highlighted a wide range of climate change issues regarding the advocacy of clean energy sectors and technology, community response and policy engagement that contribute to sustainable development and addressing the impacts of climate change in Cambodia. After the presentations, there was a Q and A session organized for the participants.
