“Climate change response in Cambodia” is a 3rd sub-topic of the workshop 4 on sustainable development facilitated by H.E. Tin Ponlok, Secretary General of the National Council for Sustainable Development, this morning of 26th February 2016, of the 2015 MoE’s conference and 2016's work plan. Representatives of the Department of Climate Change of the General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development presented the implementation progress of the Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP) and the key findings of the 21st Conference of the Parties (CoP 21).
The overall progress after approval of the CCCSP, including 1) development of the legal framework for climate change, 2) development of 15 sectoral Climate Change Action Plans (CCAPs), including 8 ministries/agency is being implemented their CCAPs, 3) mainstreaming climate change into sub-national level, 4) implementation of National Adaptation Plans process, 5) development of climate change financing framework and 6) development of monitoring and evaluation framework for climate change.
In addition, the key outcomes of the CoP 21 was presented that "this conference reached new climate agreements which requires developed countries should continue to mobilized resources, 100 billion dollars until 2025, keep the world temperature not exceeded 2 degrees Celsius and continue reducing world temperatures no exceeded 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial Industrial level.
