Phnom photo 2016 02 24 17 27 32Penh, 24 February 2016 at Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology; Team of Cambodia Climate Change Alliance and senior officials of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MoWRAM) organized a meeting to discuss on integration of climate change in investment programme and budget submission related to climate change in water resources and meteorology sector.

After listening to presentations and fruitfully discussion, the meeting decided as follows: 1) agreed to cooperate with Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) for Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) and possibility study on integration of climate change into existing programme activities and budget submission to Ministry of Economy and Finance for 2017s 2) CCCA will support both technical and fund to MoWRAM for CBA process and integration of climate change into investment programme and budget in 2017 and 3) MoWRAM designated Director of Planning and international cooperation and concerned department under GDTA as focal points to coordinate and communication with CCCA team and experts.

The meeting was attended by 13 senior officials from the two institutions under the precedency of H.E. Ponh Sachak, Director General of GDTA and Mr. Ma Chan Sethea, Director of Department of Administration, Planning and Finance (DAPF) of General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD/NCSD).

It’s remarkable that the Cost-Benefit Analysis of action in response to climate change on Water Resource and Meteorology is part of the agreement between the General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development with Ministry of Economy and Finance on the impact climate change on the economy and public finance.
