On 20 June 2023, the 4th Programme Executive Board (PEB) Meeting. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Mr. Say Samal, a chairman of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) and Minister of Environment. The representatives of the meeting included the CCCA’s Board members from the Ministry of Economy of Finance (MEF), Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), Ministry of Min and Energy (MME), the development partners, including the European Union, UNDP and the national and international observers from the relevant line ministries.

In the opening remarks, H.E. Say Samal expressed that CCCA has played an important role on climate change action plan, policy development, energy efficiency, strategies development with significant line ministries and especially piloting innovative technologies in both adaptation and mitigation. It has been a flagship initiative for climate change in Cambodia, supporting a major shift in policy towards a more resilient and carbon neutrality, some emerging priorities, including carbon finance, monitoring and reporting capacities under the Paris Agreement and also the linkages between public financial reforms and climate finance.

At the Board meeting, the main achievements of the CCCA implementation in 2022 were presented and the annual work plan for 2023 was approved. The meeting also discussed the update NDC, monitoring of the climate change response, innovation grants, partnership with line ministries and other climate change related issues.
