On 09th May 2023, the DCC/CCCA3 with collaboration from the MME inaugurated the 48kWp Solar Micro Grid System, located in Kaoh Kantheavy Island, Lerk Daek District, Kandal Province, under the project “Piloting Energy Efficiency and Solar Micro Grid for Cambodia’s Clean Energy Future''.

The ceremony is presided over by H.E. Victor Jona, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The Solar Micro Grid installation is under partnership with I.M.B and Kaam Samnor Development and co-invest in the 48 kWp Batteries Microgrid System and the power distribution system. There are 112 solar panels with maximum power of generation capacity of 450 w (1.04m x 2.1m) each. A total of 168 families equivalent to 85 households (285 females) in this remote area has benefited from this energy grid.  Moreover, unde the project, energy audit of the 10 government buildings of the MME, MOSVY, MOWA, MRD, MPWT, MoT, MoP, MAFF, MoH, and MoE under the collaboration with the MME was conducted.
