H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Secretary of State, the Ministry of Environment presided over a meeting on reform of tax on vehicles in December 4, 2019 at the Ministry of Environment, Phnom Penh.
The meeting was organized by the General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD) to approve vehicle tax recommendations for imported vehicles, based on the assessment report, Regulatory and Fiscal Policies for Road Transport Vehicles in Cambodia. The report recommends regulatory and fiscal measures that could potentially encourage consumers in Cambodia to purchase vehicles with smaller engines and equipped with cleaner engine technologies.
One of the scenarios was selected at the meeting and will be presented to the Minister for Environment for his approval.
