Cambodia submitted her first Initial Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) in December 31, 2024, in line with her capacity and responsibility under the UNFCCC. The BTR1 covers the National Inventory Report of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases; Information necessary to track progress made in implementing and achieving Nationally Determined Contributions under Article 4 of the Paris Agreement; Information related to climate change impacts and adaptation under Article 7 of The Paris Agreement; and Information on financial, technology development and transfer and capacity-building support needed and received under Articles 9-11 of the Paris Agreement. Finally, a significant effort has been mad to develop a solid framework of the institutional arrangement for monitoring so that Cambodia is able generate solid evidence on progress made and on challenges encountered. This will help Cambodia to continuously refine existing policies, not only meet our NDC update, but it is the baseline for the next NDC 3.0 and also Cambodia climate change targets under the SDGs.
