Using the support provided by Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA), the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Environment Cambodia, is jointly organizing a workshop with the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) aimed at developing a ‘National Climate Change Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework’. This is building on the recently lunched Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP), which sets the overall national policy for climate changeand recommend the establishment of a National Framework for Monitoring and Evaluation of climate change response.

The objectives of the workshop are:
- Improving and enhancing better understanding bypolicy makers of line ministries on the M&E processes
- Involving the main climate change projects and programmes(e.g. PPCR, NAPA follow-up etc.) in process
- Seeking a common understanding on the outline of the national framework– with particular focus on the adaptation and resilience aspects – and establishing a roadmap for development and implementation
- Sharing relevant experiences from other countries and international best practices
- Identifying the links between M&E of climate change and the CC mainstreaming process in development planning at national and subnational levels.
The workshop is targeting participants drawn from:
- Climate change focal points and managers of the planning department of line ministries
- Climate Change Technical Team members of line ministries
- Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Economy and Finance, the National Institute of Statistics, the Council for Development of Cambodia
- Representatives of Development Partners and major adaptation and mitigation projects
- Universities, research organizations and NGOs engaged in climate change
- CCCA Trust Fund Grantees
